My 1999 corolla functions great all round, except recently it has started to jerk when I back out from parking.
It goes jerk jerk jerk jerk jerk, and by this time I am half way out of the parking spot…
Any thoughts?

Thanks

If it only ever happens in reverse, it sounds like it is a transmission problem.

it could also be the rear brakes snagging on the drum due to dirt, and or pocked marked drums. Take drums to a garage that can have them shaved.
