# Jeep front halfshaft

My 4x4 Jeep Liberty has a front Dana axle. I recently found some play in the left halfshaft where it joins with the axle housing. Is this the normal play for the axle bearing or should I replace it before it goes bad? I would appreciate any advice or source of information.

When I push on the half-shaft upwards where it joins with the front axle differential (at the half-shaft end near the axle differential seal) it goes up by about 1/8". I’m not sure if it’s normal or I need to replace axle bushing or differential gear bearing? Any info on this Dana axle would be great. Thanks
