# Is this normal?

Maybe we can learn something new today. Is it normal for the tire size to be R16 and the rim diameter 17"?

You’re measuring the outside diameter of the rim, not the inside diameter of the tire.

You measure from the bead seat to the bead seat, rather than from the outer edge of the rim.
