You may not need awd, because minivans all have excellent traction control, they handle as well as many cars and if used appropriately, “passenger miles” is best. Absolute safest way to transport kids for one adult with the features you just can’t find in any other car. Anytime you load up a vehicle, the hybrid concept becomes less attractive with the performance loss and room you loose . Back up cameras in MV make for easier than you think parking…and they do not appear bigger than a new Subaru from the driver’s seat.

We get similar posts all the time from people who want to transport large numbers of people safely and economically, but don’t want a minivan for what ever reason, and they just eliminate the best choice…no one has as good an answer for you question w/o that option. What ever car you look at TAKE THE KIDS WITH YOU. A minivan will shine…

If you don’t want a minivan, how about a full sized van? I think some can even seat 12 if properly equipped.
