Intermittant Non-Starting Car

Those intermittent failures that always fail for you-or worse yet, the wife- but never the mechanic are the worst. Had a '78 VW Rabbit with an ignition switch that decided to work sometimes. Not suggesting that as a cause, just commiserating.

@bkunga02;However there is one thing that so far never fails… you can jump it and it will fire right up. Remember, the battery is not low, but jumping works.

Next time when you’re ready to put the jumpers on, try the ignition.
I’ve found that in the time it took to get a jump vehicle or jump pack out to the disabled car, it has cooled off enough that it will start then. Then you know it’s likely heat related.
