Interior roof light does not go off.I removed bulb for now. No switch on bulb assembly. No other electrical problem. Is first step to replace “interior light” relay in the fuse/relay box? 1999 Taurus

Fords of this vintage have the light switch inside the door latch. When this happened on my 98 Windstar, I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner into the door latch to clean the contacts. This solved the problem.

You really want to fix that door switch. It may control more than the light.

I second this repair. This happened to me on my 97 Taurus over 6 years ago. I cleaned out the latch with cleaner and I have had -0- problems since.
