The guy that gets up to the speed limit betwen lights has to stop at the next light.
Me, the guy that might get up to 20mph between the lights usually gets a green light.
The speed limit between lights is 35mph

My brother’s family of five plus a full grown black lab need the cargo box for the folding chairs while the cooler, the dog, and luggage share 1/2 the Sequoia third row. Week atva beach rental where the nearesy store stocks much more adult beverages than sandwiches. They have the now 20yr old z l Subaru wagon for around town with 1-2 kids now that the oddest is driving. My brothers solution is to ride his bike to work on the he converted rail line that gets him nearly to work with quiet streets for the last couple blocks
My wife grew up in New York City, she still drives that way! Many buds with bobbleheads prefer when I drive.
The traffic engineer’s design guidelines are to time those lights so that if you drive a small amount below the speed limit you should hit all green lights. In practice that rarely works!
The lights can be networked so that they dynamically shift the timing and some cities and counties have that… but a great many don’t Mine sure doesn’t!
Our son in law (not Pilot owner) borrowed our Odyssey to move furniture to their new house recently. The last time he returned it he declared that their next car would be a minivan. They currently have a Mazda CX-5 and a Honda Accord.
Yup!
I call it… racing to the next red light.
They’re incredibly versatile vehicles. Glad to hear you “converted” someone else. ![]()
Every time you step on the brake you are wasting kinetic energy that you had to burn gas to get. I don’t understand wehy people accelerate up to red lights when they can frequently catch them green by going just the speed limit.
… and by coasting when you see a red light ahead. More often than not, I don’t have to stop for those red lights.
Do you put your wife or the kids on the roof rack?
I’ve thought about it a few time… ![]()
Not since my daughters grew up.
