A truck is helpful to gain friends too. Or at least _so-called-friends_. I recall Ray telling a story on the Car Talk radio show of all the problems he had as a truck owner, being asked to help people move furniture etc, and how these problems all disappeared by simply selling the truck … lol … ---

I’ve seen trucks that had the warning that they weren’t available painted on them. ---

Not For Hire, i’ve seen it on car haulers, Supposed to be if you’re a dealer shipping cars around or a race team, instead of being available to haul anything. ---

Glad when my 72 f100 got traded in in 1993, Got a toyota pickup instead, less friends calling for help moving etc., but still a few. ---

My brother bought a 4 post lift. Does not work well for removing subframes. But, it is nice. ---

No, I won’t help you move.” I wouldn’t mind helping people move with my truck, except that they don’t just want me to haul stuff. They want me to lug large furniture up and down 4 flights of stairs because their apartment doesn’t have an elevator. At that point, I want to be paid in _good_ beer. 😉 ---

Mid to late 70’s my family had one of these but pretty rusty, Dad paid $300 for it and after using it to build the house and move us in sold it after 4yrs for the same $300. My brother’s memory is that you could see the road through the floors. Neighbor had one more recently and dad took him up on the offer to borrow it for an errand. There was no apparent connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. A couple of months ago my friend called me to use my 03 f-150 to move a big heavy desk. I cant complain about it. he gave me the truck for free. LOL
