True, but any automatic brush wash has that issue.
I becomes a matter of trust in the place or places you use. The one I use keeps the maintenance up on their equipment. The 4 spray wash bays, a touchless bay and a brush wash bay.

I did minimal car washes on my 03 Trailblazer, but maintenance for oil, transfer case, differential etc. 20 years old in 2023 200k plus miles, would probably still be driving it if not rear ended. Biggest miss some rust at the bottom of the door panels from the inside, got to at least remember to clean those out occasionally.
