MY 1993 Honda Accord has been having trouble starting a few times and now the transmission is slipping. It has close to 200 Thousand miles. ---

Until you give us some details on the starting problem, like what actually happens when you try to start it, don’t expect much useful information from us. As for the transmission, is the fluid pink or red and at the proper level? Has the transmission been serviced properly all along? Chances are you’ll need to go to a transmission shop, in which case a local independent one is preferred over a chain outfit. ---

In addition to details regarding what actually happens when you turn the ignition key, and info on your transmission itself, we also need to know about the car’s maintenance. When was the last time that the spark plugs and plug wires were replaced?
