If by Kentucky wind you mean Kentucky bourbon it can make for clouded issue’s I prefer Tennessee my self but if thing’s stay the same I agree that it is unlikely to be a problem. ---

Well… I’ve heard it told that if you have been drinking and you see double, drink till you see triple and go for the one in the middle. Personally I’m not a big drinker… but my stories tell better if I pretend I am ---

Since you folk are talking about Whisky, I have a story 😉 I drove across northern Nevada this past summer and stopped in for a little gambling along the way. I haven’t played blackjack in a long time, but I used to play quite frequently. The cocktail waitresses would come buy and ask me what drink I wanted, so I’d say scotch and soda w/either Johnny Walker Black, or Chevis Regal. Either one was ok, they’d bring me the one I wanted. Not this last time. I noticed the casino-thing seems to have gone awry. Not as many of them, and the ones there are aren’t as opulent. Or as friendly. So I ask for a scotch and soda, saying Johnny Walker Black. The CW gives me a weird look, then brings me my drink. I taste it, complaining it isn’t Johnny Walker Black. She says “It’s JB”, same initials … lol … ---

I am not a big drinker either but I do enjoy one every now and agin I also heard what you said but never got to where I saw it. ---

As far as stories do you know what the difference is between a scar and a tatoo? A scar usualy has a better story behind it a tatoo usualy goes well I was drinking one night. ---

Agree as any self respecting southerner would but I when I have go to legal I go for Jack Daniel’s black but always keep a supply of the clear stuff on hand. even our car’s agree as they like ethanol. ---

While reality TV gives us a phony inside view of moonshine and bootleggers there are quite a few artisans of the art of distilling spirits in north Alabama and central Tennessee whose product is quite good. An old customer with a taste for the stuff and a decades old relationship with several still operators gave me a quart for Christmas for years but he has passed away and I wouldn’t want to investigate the quality of an unknown product so I settle for bottles with stamps on them. ---

We have another thread on here about plastic radiators It make’s wonder what unscrupulous still operator’s now since there are no more copper radiator’s. ---

Not too many folks like Popcorn Sutton around anymore. And a lot of the commercial stuff is meant to adhere to the moonshine stereotype, so it’s more lighter fluid than a good beverage. Interestingly with the boom in microdistilleries, “moonshine” is often better than ever. As the distilleries start up they want to get a product out and start making money, but the whiskey hasn’t had time to age, so they release white whiskey.
