I just had the pistons, rings, and timing chain replaced on my 2013 Equinox’s 2.4 Di motor. My advice, check the oil level regularly and don’t go too long between changes. My limited experience shows DI to be very hard on oil. I wouldn’t go longer than 5k, personally I am going back to 4k changes.

Good idea, Ed. I was following the owners manual of 7,500k miles between oil changes since my driving consists of 90% highway driving and Kia is using a synthetic oil blend in it. I’ll drop down to 5k.
