# GAP Insurance: where to get it

Is it better to get GAP Insurance from the dealer or my insurance. There is large dollar difference. And I am having second thoughts with getting it from the dealer

Just read the fine print to see any exceptions that may be there. Dealers sell cars though and insurance companies sell insurance. A little different since it only paid at death but years ago I bought a policy to cover the house mortgage if something should happen. Then a while later just figured it was essentially declining term insurance and it was cheaper just to buy additional term insurance.

Volvo—so that means buy it from the insurance company?

I would think so if the insurance company is the lower premium unless you just want to spend more money than necessary .
