I have a 98 olds. bravada. After I drive for a bitand park I can smell something that is like burnt gear lube coming out of the front of the car. I know about the vent hose that comes up next to the rad. but that isn’t it. Could it be the front axle pumkin needing to be drained and refilled w/ new gear oil?

May be engine oil leaking onto hot exhaust and burning.

feel for the hot parts. but be careful to not get burned.

usually the burning smell is caused by… you got it, heat. find where the heat and the oil are together.

my guess is a hanging brake caliper, which is burning the brake pads. but it could be anywhere under the car.
