Where’s the fuel filter located on a 2005 Subaru Outback with the 3.0L H6 engine?

In 2005-present all Legacy/Outback have it inside the fuel tank. Not sure if any change interval is specified anymore.

There will be an external fuel filter. They are usually under the car, On Subaru’s, in the center under the back seat.

There is not an external filter in 2005+ for Subaru. You must remove the fuel pump from the access port underneath the back seat to get at it.

Before this year Subaru had the fuel filter very easily changeable right under the hood. Not sure what drove the design change.
