IIRC Xerox sued Apple for infringing on their GUI. This was at the time Apple was trying to prevent anyone else from using a GUI or at least collecting a royalty. The CEO of Xerox said that while the GUI should be unlicensed, he would be remiss if he didn’t copy Apple’s lead and sue them. What became of the Xerox vs Apple suit?

This is a prime real-estate area. 2,000,000 sq/ft of prime office space with an estimated cost to build back 40+ years ago between $50 million and $75 Million. Sold at auction for $575,000. If I had known it was going for such a low price I would have bid on it. Within 2 years it was 90% occupied with 40+ different companies. Sold it 5 years later for over $300,000,000.

At every job I’ve ever worked, corporate and retail, it has taken very little time to recognize which managers at every level worked their way up from non-management, especially from within that industry. They KNOW the business, know the technology, etc They also tend to be good mentors.
Back in the old days I worked with Xerox, ■■■■, IBM, CPT, etc. brings back memories as the whole office automation thing began. My boss sent me out ro look at what they had saying he didn’t think much of it. To my credit I came back amazed and saw the future. Then it all started. It was a long tough battle dealing with cogers and main frame computer jerks. The army had trained a few of us in teletype repair and I remember an engineer in our unit picking our brains on how the systems worked. I believe he helped develop the CPT system in the twin cities a year or two later but have no evidence. It was a wil$ ride but thanks for the memories. I was right.

I’ll try to be obscure as possible to avoid ruffling any feathers. There is a TV network show that comes on at 11:30PM EST. On Thursday nights they run a series of video clips titled “This Week In Unnecessary Censorship” This is of nationally know people speaking, innocent statement have words ‘bleeped’ out and lips pixelated. The result is hilarious.
Not sure is this fits as being ironic, but I find it amusing that a thread on an AI debacle is being censored by AI.

I don’t have a list and don’t know where they were made but the majority of recalled and failed engines are fitted with turbos. Most but not all 4 cyl that can’t handle the boost. Don’t think it matters where they were made. In the zeal to meet mpg requirements. I hav3 no idea what to buy because of it all.
