The chip in the key only affects starting, not getting in the door.

I have seen weird things happen, There should be a way to manually release the hood, under the front bumper and or grill, give a jump or a charge to the battery then your key should work.

But if there is an easy way to pop the hood from outside, then it defeats the security of having and internal hood release. My experience (with a friend’s 2000 Camry) and, as I recall, other reports on this forum indicate that you might actually have to disassemble some body work to open the hood from outside. That should be just difficult enough to discourage a casual battery thief.

This happened to my Ford, I believe the lock cylinder is worn out.

Have you tried the passenger side door or the back hatch? The chip should not prevent you from unlocking the doors.
