I have an rx 300 lexus yr 2000 125,000 miles. I have had this car for 11 years and nothing has gone wrong with it other than the air conditioning recently my transmission went and I am trying to decide if I should get a new car. It will probably cost around 5000 dollars.Does anyone know how long these cars last? Do you think I should fix it? Thanks Sara ---

Is that price from the Lexus dealer? I’d get another estimate from an independent shop. You might be able to get a rebuilt transmission for less and drive the vehicle for many more years. A new transmission cost a LOT less than a new car.
