I have seen post’s here where some people have told about the first car they bought I thought it might be interesting to have a list of what your first car was and how much you paid for it I am talking about the first one you bought not a free or hand me down.also your first (if any) brand new car. I will start with mine 1950 ford paid 40$ for it in 1962 never had a brand new one.

I bought a new Porsche 914 2L and paid about $7500 for it in 1976.

The first one I bought was a 1971 Datsun 510 sedan for $300. The first new car was a 1992 Saturn SC2. These were for me.
I bought my girlfriend (later wife) a Datsun 510 coupe for $250 before I bought mine. The replacement for her was a 1983 Firebird HO V6 5 speed. Still have the wife, the Firebird left after 30 months.
My grandfather had a spinal tumor and after surgery was paralyzed from the waist down. My grandmother did not have a license so at 17 in 1970 I got an Oldsmobile 1961 dynamic 88. It was fine, but he kept saying to his death if I knew you were going to get the car I would have bought a better one.

Also is there one you wish you still had if you could? The one I would still like to have was my 1977 Dodge half ton.
My 68 cougar xr7. I still could buy one, but no need. The memories are enough.
My first car was/is a project car. Back circa 1974, one of my older brothers bought a 1957 Chevy 210 2-door sedan for I think 350. That car, being from northern Ohio, turned out to be a real rust bucket with previous shoddy bodywork. In the early '80s, he and I tore the thing apart for a restoration. It has been in pieces since. I acquired the project from him (forget how much I gave him-probably way too much) in the late '80’s and still have it.
My first new car, purchased in 1990 for around $15k, was a 1990 Dodge Daytona ES Turbo. Ironically, my brother now has that car. My niece bought it from me around 2008 before she got her driver’s license, but never actually drove it (she put off getting her license for a few years, for whatever reason). My nephew, on the other hand, managed to put over 20k miles on it while still in high school.
Yeah. 1976 Porsche 914 2L. It was slow, but a lot of fun. The handling was amazing. Then again, all cars were slow in 1976. Of course, if I were to buy a Porsche now, I think it would be a Cayman.

My first car was a 1947 Pontiac which I bought for $75 in 1962. My first new car was a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon with the 4-4-2 trim package. It wasn’t a real 4-4-2 as it had the small 260 cu in V-8 engine and an automatic transmission. I had that car for 33 years. I sold it the year I retired–2011. I bought the car at a good price. It sat on the Oldsmobile dealer’s lot from May of 1978 to October of 1978 when I bought the car. The performance minded people didn’t want the car because it had the small engine. It wasn’t attractive to the older buyers because the 4-4-2 trim package didn’t mean anything to them, and many purchasers didn’t consider the salon fastback styling as very attractive. The Cutlass Supreme model was the big seller that year for Oldsmobile.
First car I bought ( in 1968) was a 1950 Chrysler New Yorker Highlander 4 door sedan with a straight-8 engine and prestomatic 4 speed semi-automatic transmission. ($75.00) First new car was a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS with a 383 and torqueflight.($3,845)
I wish I still had the 1966 Imperial I bought in 1995.
Forgot to say my 1950 Ford had the flathead 8 with 3 on the tree with overdrive.
First was a 1969 Buick Skylark 4 door for a $1000 from a dealer in 1978 or 1979. It took a while but I did pay my parents back.
First new car was a 1983 Mustang GT with a 5 speed and a 5.0 HO for a bit more.

A 1958 Ford Thunderbird 352 automatic for 250 bucks. A total POS garden slug that thankfully I did not keep long before ending up in a '59 Impala 2 DR HT.
My first car was a 1988 Toyota Corolla. I started driving in 1997, and by then, it was a rust bucket. We never had any real problems with this car, but had to junk it in 2001 due to excessive rust. Now that I live in the desert southwest, I frequently see 1988-1992 Corollas on the road, but I would not buy one now. It is too difficult to get anything with a carburetor through emissions here.
First I bought was a 1962 Ford Econoline window van, paid maybe $200 in 1969. Drove it to Woodstock, lived in it for brief periods. First new car I bought was a 79 VW Rabbit diesel, $3400. The vehicle I wish I still had was a 1946 Chev pickup with a '55 6 cylinder engine that I bought in Cortez, Colorado in 1970 for $300. It was beautiful.
First car I bought, 1987 Olds Cutlass Ciera with the upgraded V6 3.8L 3800 engine 
bought new. Paid a little over $10,000.
Very much liked that car. Used it to take my mom on a pair of summer long driving trips out west in 1990 and 1991. Loved the low end torque of that 3.8L engine. Drove it 20 years then gave it to a nephew.
But my first car I owned was a hand me down from my parents, a 1973 Toyota Corolla. Drove it 12 years and then gave it back to my folks when I bought the 1987 Olds mentioned above.
It was the last year of the separate Imperial brand. 67 was a Chrysler Imperial built on the Chrysler “C” body. Mine had a separate body and frame, and a 129" wheelbase.
