Stumbled across this NAPA parts Youtube video (link below), posted 15 years ago, instructing on how to use inexpensive hub correction plates to “true” brake rotors that are slightly off kilter. Seems like a decent idea. Trouble is, these correction plates are nowhere to be found or bought now. I’m curious, anyone know what happened to them, why they disappeared? Here’s link to the relevant part of the video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5Mj\_G5LIz8&t=195s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5Mj_G5LIz8&t=195s)

They were called “Braje Align” runout shims. I remember using them on a 97 Chevy K1500. Those were terrible about warping the brake rotors.

That vehicle cemented my love for reliable and strong drum brakes.

The runout correction shims certainly helped me years ago. Of course I do prefer drum brakes, you don’t have near the issues the finicky disc brakes tend to have.

Then why did I have to frequently readjust customers’ drum brakes, and NEVER their discs?
