hello I am considering purchasing a 1994 kia sportage with a manual tranny and it needs a engine so i was thinking i could take the one out of my current sportage which is a 2001 automatic. both are 4x4. what would i need to do in order to accomplish all this? ---

The 1994 Kia has an OBI engine management system. The 2001 Kia has the ODII engine management system. So everything from the 2001 would have to go into 1994. This includes the engine, transmission, computer, wiring harness, part of the exhaust system that includes all O2 sensors… In otherwords, it won’t be easy if you want it to work correctly. Tester ---

I agree with Tester. This would be VERY difficult, and probably expensive, to pull off. If the '94 needs an engine, it needs a '94 engine, not a 2001 engine. ---
