When i am depressing the brake peddle at stop light or while i am backing up while depressing brake peddle, my SUV will idle down and stall(Shut down) why? ---

Do you hear a hissing sound when stepping on the brake? I f you do you have a ruptured diaphragm in the brake booster and it is causing a vacuum leak large enoughg to stall the engine. ---

Yes a type of sound does come from under hood while pressing the brake pedal. The brakes are starting to make a scrubbing sound when i apply the braks. Do i need to have the brakes serviced? I have had the SUV for less than 2 months. it is a 1998, with 164,400 miles.
