Engine Oil & 2 Ignition coils smell like gas

So let’s assume the seals were not crushed and the plugs were very loose. Could this cause gas to leak into oil? I’m interested in knowing more about how these engines work.

Look at the threads on that plug @Vapx. The black color on the lower threads indicates that combustion pressure is pushing out but it is obviously not escaping past the seal ring.

The smell of gas on the coils is puzzling since while compression pressure could push atomized fuel past the seal ring if a plug is not tight but combustion would immediately escape via the loose connection and melt/burn the coil.

If you smell gasoline in the oil yet all the plugs are as clean as the one you showed and the engine is running on all cylinders it is likely that the fuel is not coming from a compression chamber due to a loose plug…

All the situations mentioned above, short trips, cold weather, faulty thermostat, etc would seem more likely causes for gas in the oil.

I hope you install fresh seals on the plugs when you re-install them. And don’t over tighten the plugs when installing them.
