You are absolutely right. I told my kids to check the oil before heading for a long trip in their car when they started driving. Yet they never did it on their own.
My son just bought his own car recently (overpaid of course) and he has been driving long distances back and forth between PA and MD. I asked him if he had checked his oil and he said “Nope”.
Those who don’t know anything about cars will drive and drive until it drops without caring about the car. Of course there are those who are better than others. But those in the know will check motor oil, transmission oil, tires, batteries, motor mounts, the works.
Last comment= my son might be stupid. Might run in family. Hey world.
Check to see if your catalytic converter is still in place. It may have been stolen.
