# (electrical?) burning smell in '08 Scion xD

Hi,

Three times in the past few months I have smelled something burning in my car. It only lasts for about 10-30 seconds. I’ve taken it into the shop to have checked with no results. Any ideas? One dealer told me I was smelling burning leaves caught in the manifold. It sure didn’t smell like burning leaves to me though. Thanks!

This could be a lot of things. Do you notice the smell as you’re driving or after it’s been sitting a while and you just get in? Have you opened the hood to see if there’s anything you may have picked up from the road? Are any of the electronics not working or any funny noises?
