Electric Vehicles: Myths vs. Reality

I ignore personal questions

You’ve IGNORED every question. You’ve made many many WILD statements…and you’ve been asked to explain what you meant…or even proof of your wild statements…

CCC:

So you’re in favor of nuclear power. Excellent!

“honestly, mike, take a chill pill. I never stated any of those things, you have imagined them. Either join the discussion or ignore it; the rest is outside your purview”

I don’t know mike or you, but I know your ilk, and I’m not big on ilk. I’m inclined to take mike’s word for it.

“I ignore personal questions. They have nothing to do with an argument. What part of that don’t you or SOShmountain not understand?”

I don’t currently own a car. Your turn.

Reality: A electric vehicle will not replace a persons car if its the only car they own. Simply because you will not be able to load a plug in only electric car full of luggage and make the three hundred mile summer vacation trip to the beach with the A/C at full blast. So for now a electric car is a second car for commuting to work for those that can afford it.

Reality: A big percent of peoples housing is not a single family house with drive way and garage. So for these people a plug in electric car is not a option because there would be no way to charge the car.

Reality: Running the heat or A/C significantly reduces the range of a electric car, so on your commute home you hit a back up you will most likely have to sit in the backup with the Heat or A/C off, or risk draining the battery down to the point of not making it home.

Reality: Plug in only electric cars could cause safety problems with people driving with fogged up window because of not running the heat and or defroster in a effort to extend the cars range. This may also be true to a lessor extent of not turning on the head lights until it gets very dark to extend the range.

Summery: For some the Plug in only electric car may be a option as a second car for commuting to work, But the Plug in only electric car will not be the answer to replacing the internal combustion engine.
