I have a 2002 with abs and 4wheel disc brakes. I have an intermittent problem with the right front and left rear brakes getting hot to the point of burning smell and hubcaps too hot to touch. When this happens those wheels are hard to turn. This has happened about 10 times over the last two years. Brake jobs front and rear haven’t helped. What is causing it ?

I think it’s your master cylinder not releasing pressure. It has two sections, each works on diagonal wheels.

Change your brake fluid every 3 years and you’re less likely to have this kind of trouble.

Include new rubber brake hoses in your “to do list” they can degrade and trap brake fluid.
