Read your Accord’s maintenance schedule in your owners manual. I’d bet it puts a time limit irrespective of the maintenance light.
I’d say just leave your girlfriends car alone given she doesn’t want you to even adjust the mirrors

I read mine again and it only says to use the Maintenance Minder. There is no caution about changing on a time basis.

Does your 2017 Accord have any way to tell elapsed, real time? My '08 Trailblazer has GPS time for the radio clock setting so it can tell elapsed time as well as operational time. Perhaps that is already integrated into the maintenance minder? I doubt an '06 Corolla has that capability so more likely it might be something the user has to track separately?
I am on a once a year on my 2017 Toyota and never have seen the maintenance light.
Ok sure enough about 5 or 6 pages in in teeny tiny print is a foot note. T
