# Dodge Dakota fuel filter

Looking for the fuel filter on a 96 Dodge Dakota that I recently purchased (2wd 3.9L). My Haynes manual is not so accurate for all years. Says it should be lower right front of engine, below fuel pump–but I don’t even see f.p. there. Anyone know where?

The fuel filter is in the fuel pump module. No regular service required.

Rod is correct. The filter is part of the fuel pump regulator/filter assembly which sits on top of the fuel pump in the tank (at least for my 95 Dakota 3.9). A good website for all things Dakota is [http://www.dakota-truck.net/](http://www.dakota-truck.net/)
