My car need replacement of rack & pinion. Garage quoted me $722.00 for the unit and $275.00 to install. I found the unit alot cheaper online. Can I perform the labor myself?

Now how would anyone know your mechanical ability ? Do you have tools , jack stands , engine lift if the engine supports have to be removed ? This is not an easy task .

Put ( Replacing rack and pinion on 1997 Buick century ) in your search engine and you might find a video showing how it is done .
