I’m having a problem w/ moister in my fuel tank. 3 yrs with no issues, all of a sudden, my fuel cap is corroded & experiencing loss of power. Have tried fuel additives, changed fuel filter, helps for a while, then starts again. The weird thing, I’ll be driving w/ normal acceleration & all of a sudden I can’t get out of my own way. If I stop & turn the engine off for 30 to 60 seconds, it’s fine when I restart it. What’s up with that?

Rust dust in the tank may be covering the sock filter and restricting fuel flow.

Do you top off the tank, or do you stop with the first “click?”

These Sprinters are not the most reliable vehicles to begin with, so this might not be something good for a DIYer.

I could be wrong, but as I recall diesels generally don’t have the problem with the vent system.
