It depends on how much you like the dealer. I had a Pontiac dealer I used to go to because they were fantastic. I knew I was paying more for some services, but it was always done right, explained to me and I knew they were honest. Unfortunately, they only worked on GM vehicles, so I had to find someone else when I bought my Ford.
I currently take my Ford to the dealership because it’s under warranty. The Sales department there is great, the service department is beyond abysmal. The car has 33k on it and I’ve paid for one oil change. All the other changes and services have had issues which ended in a free oil change coupon.
Bottom line, if the dealer is great I’d stick with them for piece of mind. If they’re just ok, try to get recommendations for a independent. Good luck!
