# CR's initial impressions of the new VW Atlas

…are mostly positive.  
No, I probably wouldn’t buy one, but the increased competition will help to keep Toyota, Honda, GM, and Subaru on their toes.

It seems like a nicely equipped vehicle

However, I wonder about its reliability and future resale value

Those are 2 areas in which I feel VW has some catching up to do, versus Honda and Toyota

…as do I.  
Those two factors are among the factors that would almost surely keep me from buying one.
