 I am looking for a 3800 engine & trany for my 1998 Intrigue, From which cars/year would I be able to pull these?

I suggest that you to to a GM or intrigue forum. Lots of people at that kind of site might know what long blocks will interchange. You can often get a wider range of engines that will swap if you are willing to change some of the more peripheral parts, sensors, manifolds,…
