Re: 4. The Volt is a new technology, with limited production. Claiming it isn’t as efficient as your Saturn by only looking at long distance driving is silly, it wasn’t meant for that.
New technology must always cost more until production efficiencies bring the cost down. Examples? CD players came out in 1983 at a retail price of over $1000. A few years later they were $400, and are practiaclly free now. A 32" plasma TV cost $20,000 10 years ago. The list is endless.
The usual metric measurement is liters per 100 kilometers.
