Compression fitting on brake lines

If anyone is interested here are some photos to show the brake lines and fittings I’m referring to. Should I also be concerned how the new lines are unsupported or tied to the frame and could possibly chafe against each other, the old lines, or the frame of the vehicle?

They owe you a refund IMHO. Also, the lines being unsupported can cause problems and not just with chaffing. Being left loose can allow the lines to vibrate and over time this could cause a fitting to come loose or more than likely, crack.

Looks like they went the quick and easy way on this while charging you too much. Brake lines with fittings are available in sticks of varying lengths and this is what should have been done.

Trust your gut. Those lines have to be removed and replaced with the correct flares and fittings. When you do, take the time to run the lines as close together and near the frame as you can get them. Then use a few zip ties to hold them from vibrating.

That looks like something a 16 year old might do to their first beater. You should never go back to the place that did that work.

In your last photo (CloseUp2), where you’ve circled the red compression union… directly ABOVE that, there are two steel lines joined correctly with a flare union. THAT is how it’s supposed to be done.
