I have a 2000 chevy tracker 2.0 4x4, every time I let it idle for more that 25 minutes it dies and won’t start back up for another 30 minutes but after that it starts fine. I’ve also had issues where I got stuck at red light for 5 to 10 minutes and it would die as well after I drove it for a hour or so. I’ve had the fuel filter and fuel pump replaced and still the same, the two mechanic’s I’ve taken it to said it was the fuel pump.

It does sound like a fuel pump problem. But if that’s been replaced, next guess is the ignition module or the crank position sensor. Both are known to be heat-related fail items. Not on this vehicle in particular, but in general. I’d probably be checking the fuel pressure too, esp if you can test it when it won’t start. I presume you’ve already checked for diagnostic codes.

The problem might be with crankshaft sensor.

If the computer loses the signal from this sensor, the computer see’s no reason to operate the fuel/ignition systems.
