Is there an easy way to replace the heater core in an '01 Chevy S-10, that doesn’t involve completely removing the dash?

Just in case anyone was curious, the answer is no. I went ahead and changed the core this week-end, after 6 hours and a back-ache later the job was done. It took longer to remove the dash than it did to install it due to the “general” maintenance guide in my Hayne’s book. Complaints aside, it did get me in the ballpark and I now have heat!
