Changed alloy wheel now got bad acceleration and poor braking

Not necessarily. I’ve seen kids at the college try to do this with no calculations whatsoever. They cut the springs, get deep wheels with a big offset, wide tires, and eureka! They have (their opinion) a cool low rider! At least until a wheel falls off.

my last 2 vues had 16" rims and 17" rims. i got a nice set of 18" rims but no tires. i did a quick look on CL for used tires in my size but did not find any that were newish. didnt feel like buying a new set as the old wheels were not in great demand and would have been hard to peddle

Nope. Sold them with the old vehicle.
