I just bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. The CD player ejects CD’s and the screen says ERR. I have tried blowing it out with compressed air. Any other suggestions short of replacing it?

No point in getting it fixed. It would be cheaper to just replace. Sorry, I know it is not what you want to hear.

Remove the CD player and remove whatever cover is over the CD mechanism, look and see if something (a label, maybe there are two CD’S stuck in the slot, this is very common, maybe children put coins in the slot).

I know we are told not to open devices that “must be serviced by qualified technican” but you can do this.

Have you tried a cleaning CD? For the most part since you can buy a “better” system for less than $100, you are better off just buying and installing a new unit.
