What is a typical cost of repairing a catalytic converter?

Depends on the vehicle, if you go with a direct fit cat, or if you go with a universal type cat.

I will just relate what I have seen, low $200.00 high $1500.00 just for the cat,post back what tests you or your mechanic are using to determine you need a cat,it is easy to get this one wrong.

I notice your post says “repairing” my conclusion is you mean replacing and you really want to know about part price.

Remember there is a 8 yr 80,000 Fed. warranty on cats (with just a few qualifying parameters)and labor is included.
