# Car won’t drive

1999 Toyota solara- car will shift into gear but doesn’t move when I press the gas pedal. Bought this car a few months ago. Transmission fluid seems fine. CEL is on for shift solenoid…?

That is what is commonly known in the industry as a clue. Not shifting and an error for the shift solenoid, just might be a nudge as to where to start looking. I would see about getting to a decent transmission shop. Stay away from chain shops like Aamco, Cottman etc.
