A blown fuel pump fuse would indicate a short somewhere in the fuel pump circuit. Until you fix the short it will keep blowing fuses.

Has the oil pressure been tested with a calibrated pressure gauge?

If you keep blowing fuses to the fuel pump, then either you have a faulty pump drawing too much current or a short to ground in the line.

Do you have the meter and expertise to check the pump’s current draw?

WHAT DID YOU SAY?
I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF MY FUEL PUMP!

I’m sorry.
The Devil made me say that.

Well, if the test indicated the oil pressure is OK the sending unit must be bad. Replace it.

And turn off the caps lock!

“In the gas tank.” That has a way of stopping people in their tracks, doesn’t it?

GM Engineers, back in the 70s…

"OK, guys… these new fuel pumps we designed pass the 45,000 mile cycle testing, where can we hide it where the owner would either never find it or try to replace it?

“Let’s also put some sensors and such that go bad even sooner, make it into a torpedo and slide the whole thing INTO the gas tank itself”

“You just got yourself a bonus 2000 shares in GM, Buster”

Although you have to admit that putting the fuel pump in the tank almost eliminated vapor lock and icing problems. Maybe someday they’ll all add pump access hatches.

Op. please don’t give up on us. We like to fool around a lot, but we still would like to help.
