Maybe it is just a 2 cycle boat thing, as far as fogging oil for the engine. Every fall I do it for the boat, is it recommended for cars? ---

Cancelling insurance for one year can be a mistake. When you apply for insurance after a year without, many companies force you on high risk plans. When I am in Mexico for a year at a time, I go to minimum liability for maybe $120 or so, and when I go back, I call up and they move it back to full coverage. High risk for me might be a thousand dollars extra. Not worth it. However the smart thing to do is to ask your insurance agent, not folks here who obviously know nothing about car insurance. ---
