Car still overheating

Also the 2k rpm drop I spoke of is at highway speeds

You mean every time your compressor kicks on, you drop 2K rpm, quickly? And thus lose all that speed?

If activating the A/C compressor actually causes the engine to bog by 2k RPMs on the highway then there has to be a system pressure problem with the high side being through the roof.
No wonder the engine is overheating.

My suggestion is to follow Tester’s comment about checking the pressures with a gauge set. If the high side is getting into that 300-400 PSI range then there’s an issue with the expansion valve, clogged condenser, or overcharge of the system.

Yes it loses power instantly. Also fan is new even added and extra cooling fan still doesnnt help. I think yall are right about the ac being messed up will bring it up to ac mechanic.

So you’re turning 3000 rpms on the freeway

Then the ac compressor engages, and you’re turning 1000 rpms on the freeway

Did I get that correct?
