Don’t need a parts store , Wal Mart has it also .
My 47 year old truck’s paint is noticeably oxidized. Factory paint. To improve the appearance I used a rubbing compound (Number 7 brand), followed by easy-on, easy-off wax. It came out looking pretty good – immediately after I did this several people offered to buy it during gasoline purchases. The paint still has a little bit of an oxidized whitish haze. Do you think the Kit Wax product would improve on what I’ve already done?
I think #7 is Dupont. I use 3M Perfectit rubbing compound with an orbital polisher and foam pad. I’m about out so who knows what I’ll get? Some stuff is made for hand use and really aggressive-I think the 3M red stuff in a can back in 1968. Other stuff is made for machine use. Electricity is your friend.
As far as Kit, no, I don’t know if it is made any more. The formula was changed in the 80s to make it(their words) Clearcoat Friendly.
