# Car lurching

My daughter’s car lurches when you are stopped. While driving down the road the car will gear down. I turned off the overdrive and the gearing down stopped but it is jerking. Please help.

How many miles on the car? Is the transmission fluid level correct? Has the transmission ever been serviced (fluid changed)?

the car has just over 200,000 and the level is good and I’m not sure if it has been serviced or not
