i need a new engine, the question is is cheaper better? i found my own for 1000.00 and the shop has one for 1900.00, what should i do?

I would get a second opinion from an independent shop.
thats what i think too, i think that this shop is just too lazy to find out what the issue is or they just dont want to do the work
Did they say why? Did they do any diagnosis?
