I just bought a used 98 Toyota Corolla from a Toyota dealer 36 days ago for $4000. The engine has blown. Of course they are not going to replace it. Do you think its a waste of money to replace the motor with a used motor or should I just try to sell the car and see how much money I can get out of it? ---

How many miles on this car? Was there any warranty? You might want to consider installing a rebuilt engine, in which case you may get many years/miles out of this car. More detail about what happened might be helpful. ---

Have you obtained absolute proof the engine has ‘blown’? More particulars are needed for an educated guess. ---

Exactly what is wrong with the engine? How many miles are on the car? What is the overall condition of the rest of the car?
