Neutral safety switch…aka…Manual lever position sensor It’s the switch that knows if it’s in park, reverse, neutral, or any of the forward drive gears. The switch that turns on your back up lights. Why did you take it off ? What problem are you attempting to fix ? ? ---

It has a wire plugged into it on the right side, correct? It looks like some kind of position reporting switch, with it going over a shaft that would rotate and change contacts within the switch.
